ST JOHN’S Chikwaka School Fees
The current fees for St Jonh’s Chikwaka High School are approximately $1540 when starting Form One or lower 6. This includes uniforms, once-off desk fee and textbooks.
After that, the cost is between $488 and $550 per term, depending on the practical courses the student is undertaking.
St Jonh’s Chikwaka Application
There are no St John’s Chikwaka High School application forms for Form One places 2027. The enrolment is done through the Ministry of Education’s EMAP platform.
This is usually available after the Grade 7 results are published. No applications are accepted directly at the school for the 2027 intake.

The cut-off points for both girls and boys at St John’s Chikwaka are 6-8 units for both girls and boys.
To gain admission into Lower Six, students must apply directly at the school after their O-Level results have been released.
St John’s High School Chikwaka Projects
St John’s Chikwaka installed a solar system at the school that has a 5kva solar system, 10kw battery bank, 3,3kw PV module and 26 security solar lights. The system supports all classroom lighting and also powers up the administration block. Students have their evening lessons and night studies with no fear of any blackouts.
The school runs piggery and poultry projects and the proceeds have been used to construct some staff blocks and bought a 10-seater Toyota Hiace. These projects also support the school’s dining needs hence cutting on the cost of feeding the boarders.
From the piggery project, a biodigester was built and the kitchen is using the gas for cooking. The school sells at least 20 pigs a week, showing how vibrant the project is.
Before Covid, the school had almost 500 pigs and 5000 broilers.
The school also runs a tuckshop.
St Jonh’s Chikwaka also has a big garden with various vegetables like cabbages, broccoli, vegetables, and carrots and an orchard that has 100 trees of apples and 100 trees of oranges.
A greenhouse has also been set up for tomato farming.
St. John’s Chikwaka has taken a proactive approach in preparing its students for life beyond school by offering a unique driving school project.
This initiative allows learners to obtain their driver’s licenses while still at school, giving them a significant advantage as they transition into adulthood.

The school has four science laboratories for biology, science, physics, and combined science and to date, St John’s Chikwaka is one of the best schools in science in the country.
In 2016 the school constructed an ICT laboratory for A-level students. Currently, they have 20 blocks for classrooms and have also constructed a lecture theatre.
CCTV has been installed to help manage the students and enhance security.
The school is in the process of building a clinic that is expected to offer medical services to the students, members of staff, and members of the community.
Four boreholes have been sunk at the school to ensure water availability for student’s and Livestock.
The school has sufficient dormitories, ensuring that each room is shared by no more than three students.
Diet at St Jonh’s Chikwaka
The school offers a standard diet that includes pork, beef and beans. Fruits from the orchard also contribute towards a balanced diet.
The school aims to provide students with a balanced diet, which is why they maintain a large garden. They also grow maize to ensure there is plenty of food for everyone, including the livestock.
Students are permitted to bring tuck to supplement their diet, but tinned food and sweets are not allowed.
St Jonh’s Chikwaka Sports & Clubs
The school believes in all-around education of the student. It has a vibrant marimba band. The school also has a music department that even has exams for the students.
The music department saw the school record a music album in 2019 in line with the new curricullum.

Horrible Matron
Security risk for form 1s especially girls
They are forced to wake up at 4h30 in the morning everyday to clean outside the fenced area of their dormitories
Already mwanamusikana is exposed to dangers of tape and coercion into anything against their will
One of the matrons vanonzi Mai Keith is very rude and has a rotten attitude towards both parents and the girls
The kids I spoke to were all afraid of her and don't like her
