Nyashanu High School is located in the Murambinda, Buhera district of Manicaland Province,. Established in 1967, the school is a co-educational boarding institution run by the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe (RCZ).
The school can be reached via a tarred road, followed by a 28 km stretch of gravel road leading up to the gate. Water is readily available throughout the school for the convenience of both students and staff.
Nyashanu has an enrolment of around 800 students and it offers the Zimsec syllabus.

At O-level, it attained 92.77 percent. Out of 166 candidates who registered for five or more subjects, 154 of them passed. 26 candidates had 5As and above.
133 candidates passed with 5 subjects or above, including English, while 95 learners passed 5 or more subjects, including Mathematics and Science.
The best learner was a girl who had 12 As, and the second highest candidate had10As, 2Bs, while the best teacher had 89As in History.
All the subjects had more than 50 percent, with the following subjects having attained 90 percent and above: Shona Language, Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Heritage Studies, and Building. Subjects that had 100percent were Computer Science, Technical Graphics, Physical Education, and Fashion Textile and Design.
