Girls High School Harare
Girls High School Harare (GHS) was founded in 1898 making it the oldest and biggest girls-only high school in Zimbabwe. The boarding school can accommodate up to 1000 girls at a time. The school is an ICDL center offering certification to its students.
GHS is the sister school to Prince Edward High School.
Girls High School Application
GHS application for form 1 enrolment is done through the Ministry of Education’s EMAP platform: this is usually available after publication of the Grade 7 results. Currently, the school is open for applications and you can apply online for a form one 2020 place here.
No applications are accepted directly at the school.
Once a place has been offered through EMAP, a registration pack will be sent out detailing all the required procedures and documentation. Prospective boarding learners require a recommendation from their previous school.
Girls High School Uniform
The school colours are bottle green and gold. The school uniforms for the junior girls is the traditional green pinafore with the white blouse and the school uniforms for the senior girls (A level students) is the traditional “butcher blazer” with stripes and green skirts.
