Gifford High School

Gifford High School is a government-owned boys-only high school in Bulawayo. The day school has an enrolment of around 800 boys.

Gifford High School is located near the Bulawayo city centre making it a walkable distance for students from the town to the school.

The school is well known for its excellence in academic, sports and cultural delivery. It equips learners with sound virtues of hard work, honesty, moral, consciousness, self –esteem, commitment and involvement. The school also offers a curriculum which is diversified and well balanced, i.e., technical, academic and sports.

Gilford Secondary School also has embraced ICT and learners are equipped with ICT skills.

The Gifford staff is comprised of highly qualified teachers who are competitive, motivated and dedicated in their respective areas.

The school has a bitter rivalry with Milton Boys High school.

Gifford High School Pass Rate

The school has an average performance in public exams and it attained a 61.9% pass rate at A-Level in 2013. The school fails to make it to the top 100 schools in Zimbabwe.

Gifford High School Fees

As a government-owned institution, the school's fees are affordable. In 2014 the school was charging US$50 for a child to secure a place.

Gifford High School Application Requirements

The school expects potential students to be diligent, courteous, disciplined, dedicated and proud Giffordians. Although we first preference is given to students with higher points upon enrolment, Gifford being a child development centre, also gives room for students of diverse social, economic, cultural and intellectual backgrounds and capacity.
