Kwekwe Polytechnic, under the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science, and Technology Development, is offering Traditional Apprenticeship Programmes (TAP) from 7th – 17th April 2025.
These programs are conducted on a block-release basis, allowing students to gain practical experience through trainee attachments while receiving ongoing mentorship and follow-ups.
The training includes entrepreneurial skills to equip graduates with the knowledge needed to start their businesses.
Admission Requirements for Kwekwe Polytechnic Apprenticeship Programmes
To apply, prospective students need to meet the following criteria:
- No formal qualifications are required, but applicants must be able to read and write.
- Applicants must be able to pay the prescribed tuition fees.
- Have an interest and potential for self-employment
- Be able to negotiate for own place of attachment (ideally in the formal sector.
Required Documents:
- Certified copies of the applicant's birth certificate and national ID.
- Two passport-size photographs.
- Proof of payment for the registration process.
Accommodation is limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to confirmation.

- Automobile Electrics – 3 blocks, 18 months, $95 per block
- Brick and Block Laying – 4 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Hotel and Catering – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Cosmetology – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Cutting and Designing – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Housekeeping – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Waitressing – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Diesel Plant Fitting – 4 blocks, 18 months, $95 per block
- Electrical Power – 4 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Interior Decoration – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Motor Mechanics – 4 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Plumbing and Drain Laying – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Fabrication (Welding) – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- ICT (Web Design, Programming, Network Administration) – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
- Solar PV Installation and Maintenance – 3 blocks, 12 months, $95 per block
