The girls-only school is located 7km south-east of Macheke in the Mashonaland East province of Zimbabwe. Before 2000, the school only offered ‘Ordinary Level’ education. The year 2000 saw the opening of the Advanced Level Suite.
The school is well-known for producing high achieving pupils over the years. In the November 2013 O-Level exams the school had 82 candidates and all scored 5 or more passes resulting in a 100% pass rate.
In 2014 the school also registered a 100% pass rate after all its 59 candidates passed the A-Level exams.
The feat was repeated in the 2015 A-Level and O-Level exams & the school registered a 100% pass rate. Three girls from the school had 20 points each at A-Level that year.
The school was placed 26 out of 100 in the 2017 A-Level examinations.
There are no application forms for form one places at Monte Cassino High School. The enrolment is done through the Ministry of Education’s EMAP platform: this is usually available after publication of the Grade 7 results.
No applications are accepted directly at the school.
The current 2021 school and boarding fees for Monte Cassino are not available. If you know them please share them in the comments below. However, there have been press reports that suggest that the school is relatively expensive.
For example, a worried parent complained about fees increases and students from Monte Cassino high school complained that they were getting poor food despite the high school fees their parents had paid.
The uniforms do not come cheap. In 2019 a full set of uniforms cost US$ 423 at Enbee.
