Suitably qualified candidates can train as teachers in any of the following Diploma and Degree programmes:
- Diploma in Education Primary (Early Childhood Development)
- Diploma in Education Primary (Junior)
- Diploma in Education Secondary (Sciences)
- Diploma in Education Secondary (Techno-Sciences) HEADLANDS CAMPUS
- (i) Agriculture and Veterinary Science
- (ii) Textile Design and Technology
- BSc Honours Degree in Science Mathematics and Technology Education (BS-HSTE) In-service.
Duration: Two years Full Time; 3 years Part-Time (Block Release). - BSc Honours Degree in Science Mathematics and Technology Education (BS-HSTE) Pre-service.
Duration: 4 years Full-Time.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
For Programmes 1 and 2
Five ‘O’ level passes including English, Mathematics, Science and an Indigenous Language.
For Programme 3
Five ‘O’ level passes including English, Mathematics, and any two of the following subjects: Combined Science, Physical Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture and Geography. The candidate will specialise in any 2 of the following subjects: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, and Geography.
For Programme 4
(i) Five ‘O’ level passes including English, Mathematics, Science and Textile Design and Technology or Fashion and Fabrics.
(ii) Five ‘O’ level passes including English, Mathematics and a Science subject.
For Programme 5
A Diploma in Education Secondary (Sciences) with specialisation in the area applied for. The candidate will specialise in any 1 of these subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, and Geography.
Programme 6
Five ‘O’ level passes including English and Mathematics.
2 ‘A’ level passes in any of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, and Geography or equivalent.
The candidate will specialise in any 1 of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, and Geography.
