Hillside Teachers' College, under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, is excited to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 intake.
They are seeking suitably qualified individuals who are eager to train as secondary school teachers. If you have a passion for education and meet their criteria, you are encouraged to apply.
General Requirements
All candidates must meet the following general requirements:
- 5 ‘O' Level Subjects: Including English Language and Mathematics. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply, with the note that Mathematics is not a requirement for individuals with visual impairment.
- 2-Year Post ‘A' Level Course: Applicants must have ‘A' Level passes in subjects including Mathematics, Ndebele/Shona, Geography, English, History, and Heritage Studies among others. Specific requirements apply for candidates wishing to train in Commerce or as Science teachers.
- 3-Year Post ‘O' Level Course: Applicants must specialize in two subjects from the offered categories and meet the additional specified requirements.

Specialized Subject Requirements
- Physical Education and Sport: Must have ‘O' Level Physical Education, Sports & Mass Display or evidence of participation in sporting activities.
- French and English: Advanced level proficiency in French is required.
- Sciences: Should have ‘O' Level in Combined Science, Physical Science or equivalent.
- Applied Art and Design: ‘O' Level in Art and Design or related qualifications.
- Music and Arts Education: Candidates should have ‘O' Level Music and may be required to audition.
- Building and Design Technology, Agriculture, Fashion and Fabrics, and Computer Science also have specific ‘O' Level prerequisites.
