Hartmann House Prep School 

Hartmann House is the Preparatory School for St George's College, and it offers day schooling for boys from Grade 0 to Grade 7. The School is owned and run by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and was founded in 1957.

Hartmann House brings together a rare and exhilarating blend of academic excellence, social engagement, sporting prowess and cultural engagement. The schools' mission is to instil a universal development of the “whole” of a young man’s character and conscience.

For grade 0-2, the school is called Paul Miki ECD Centre and it is known as Hartmann House Prep school from grades 3-7.

How To Apply to Hartmann House Prep School

Hartmann House Prep school advises parents to apply for a place for their child a few terms in advance due to demand and the need for planning in advance

Step 1

Application Packs are obtainable from the Receptionist at Hartmann House, or can be downloaded here, and should be returned to the Registrar at St George’s College with the correct registration fee. 

Step 2

Once applications are made, Applicant Assessment Tests are usually held mid-term of/after the term when the application is made. (Eg. If the application is made towards the end of term 1- the Assessment Test is likely to be mid-term of Term 2)  

Step 3 

Applicants that do well in their Assessment tests will be placed on the Waiting List. Unsuccessful applicants will receive a regret letter via email.

Step 4

Once a place becomes available, you will be required to pay a Non-refundable deposits/Desk fees to solidify your son’s placement. Final invoices are usually ready for collection once the desk fee has been paid in full. Your boy is then welcomed to the school as an official student.

Hartmann House Prep School Fees

This is an elite school and as such the school fees are higher than average preparatory and primary schools in Zimbabwe. The current school fees levels for 2021 for Hartmann House prep school are not available.

The latest available fees are for the first term of 2020. The school was charging the following fees; 

Hartmann House Uniforms

Red, white and grey are the main colours for the Grade 0 pupils. Khakhi and grey are the main colours for grades 1-7. A complete, correct and clean uniform is required each day.   Blazers and hats must be worn to and from school.

The correct games kit must be brought when required. 

If boys go home in a collared sports shirt, they must wear a blazer or a tracksuit, footwear and hat. 

If boys wear a non-collared shirt or t-shirts, they must go home in a tracksuit, footwear and hat.
