The Ministry of Health and Child Care invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to train as Registered General Nurses for the January 2027 intake Chimhanda School of Nursing, Maphisa School of Nursing, and Gwanda School of Nursing.
This is a 3-year nurse training programme designed for individuals who are passionate about healthcare and committed to serving communities.

Registered General Nurse Training Intake January 2026 Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 Ordinary Level subjects with a grade C or better pass.
- English Language and a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, Physical Science, Combined Science and Physics).
- The other three subjects should exclude practical subjects (Fashion and Fabrics, Metal Work, Technical Graphics, Art, Woodwork, Physical Education and Building etc).
- The passes should have been obtained from not more than TWO sittings with original certificates.
- Examination Result Slips are not accepted, and use of fake certificates is a serious criminal offence.
- Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age by the date of commencement of training, which is 04/01/2027.
