Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic is inviting applications for Intake 9 of the three-year Diploma in Education (Secondary Science) programme commencing in February 2027. Located in Gwanda District, Bulawayo, the institution was named in honor of the late Vice President Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo.
The polytechnic offers a wide range of programmes, providing students with the opportunity to obtain National Certificates, National Diplomas, and Higher National Diplomas across various fields of study.

The semesterised programme offers applicants the opportunity to specialise in one of the following subjects:

- Mathematics

Entry Requirements at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic:
Applicants must have:
- At least 5 O Level passes with grade C or better, including English Language, Mathematics and a pass in the chosen area of specialisation.
- For Pure Sciences, applicants should have any one of the following O Level subjects or combinations: Physical Science, Extended Science, Combined Science, Physics and Biology, Chemistry and Biology, or Integrated Science.
- For Computer Science, applicants should have a pass in Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics.
- An A Level pass in the chosen specialisation subject is an added advantage.

How to apply at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic
Applicants can apply through either of the following options:
Option 1: Apply in person at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic with certified copies of your Birth Certificate, National ID and academic certificates, proof of payment of the processing fee, and your phone number.
Applications may also be sent to the Polytechnic through courier services.
Option 2: Contact any of the listed staff members by phone to have your application considered over the phone. Applicants should have the required documents in Option 1 available when calling.
Payment Details
A non-refundable processing fee of USD 20.00 must be deposited into one of the following accounts:

- AFC Bank – Account Number: 100 000 365 801, Gwanda Branch
Important: Ensure that your name (not the parent's or guardian's name), ID number, and the course area you are applying for are written on the banking slip.
Deadlines
The closing date for applications is 29 January 2027. However, interested candidates can check with the Polytechnic to confirm the availability of vacancies after this closing date.
