The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has released the 2025 examination fees for both Ordinary (O-Level) and Advanced (A-Level) levels. Below is the breakdown of the key details, including fee structures, government subsidies, and payment guidelines, to help students, parents, and educators navigate the process.
Government Subsidy for 2025 Examinations
The government will subsidize the 2025 Zimsec examination fees for candidates in public schools, Local Authority Schools, and Mission Schools. Here’s how the subsidy works:
- O-Level Candidates: Government will cover 55% of the examination fees, leaving candidates to pay 45% per subject.
- A-Level Candidates: The government will pay 55%, with candidates covering the remaining 45% per subject.
The subsidy covers 7 subjects at O-Level and 4 subjects at A-Level, including Communication Skills. Candidates wishing to sit for additional subjects will need to pay the full cost for those subjects.
