St Luke Jemedza High School is a private mixed boarding school located in Chikomba district.

The young school was opened in 2014 and most of the teachers who opened the school were from Mutoko High.

Jemedza High school is a Trust school under Philadelphia Mission in Africa Trust. The school has an authorised establishment of 31 teachers and 53 ancillary staff on average.

The school offers the ZIMSEC syllabus in Sciences, Arts, and Commercials. It also has excellent day and boarding facilities.

St Luke Jemedza High School Curricullum

A wide curriculum that encompasses almost all the key subjects to produce an integral and multifaceted learner is offered at St Lukes Jemedza.

Regular assessment is an important element of the school curriculum. It enables the excellent teaching staff to focus on the individual learning needs of each pupil, identifying those who need more help and stretching those who are more able.

It also means that pupils become comfortable with the concept of testing long before they sit for public examinations at the end of O's and A Level courses.

At ZJC level the school offers 10 or 11 subjects. At ‘O' level the school has a total of 18 subjects divided into the sections: Sciences, Arts and Commercials.

At ‘A' level Jemedza High offers communication skills as a compulsory subject, 4 Arts and 5 Commercial subjects. There are plans to fully upgrade and equip the senior Laboratory so as to re-introduce A level pure sciences.

The school has a functional Library and general purpose hall and a state of the art Great Hall is under construction. There is a Laundry Department for learners clothing items and a well-stocked tuckshop within the school premises.

The Responsible Authority is constructing another semi-detached staff quarters to ensure that staff members have decent accommodation.

Boarding Life At St Luke Jemedza High School

On Saturday learners carry out general work in the morning from 8 am to 9 am. Then they have a study session from 11 am to 1 pm and evening study from 5:45 pm to 8 pm.


On Sunday learners have a study session from 8 am to 10 am. They attend church services from 11 am to 1 pm. In the evening they have a study session from 5:45 pm to 8 pm.

St Luke Jemedza has a strict 5-minute policy. Learners are given 5 minutes after each lesson to visit ablution facilities.

No irons are allowed, there is a laundry department that does the washing and ironing of uniforms.
