Midlands State University

MSU boasts four vibrant campuses spread across Zimbabwe, namely, Harare, and Zvishavane, with the main Campus located in Gweru.

The campuses house nine faculties namely Arts, Commerce, Education, Law, Natural Resources Management and Agriculture, Science and Technology, Social Sciences, Medicine and Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering.

Home to more than 22,000 students and 2,000 members of staff, some of whom are among the nation’s top scholars and researchers, the University offers flexibly packaged programs that are further augmented by the Work Related Learning programme as part of multifaceted efforts by the University to produce innovative and enterprising graduates who seek not only to be employees but also possess the proclivity to establish their own businesses.

Applicants are advised that English is the language of instruction at Midlands State University. Qualifying applicants from non- English speaking backgrounds are required to register for a one-semester Intensive English programme prior to starting their degree.

1. Master of Science in Applied Agricultural Economics -2 years To be eligible for the programme, a candidate must normally be a holder of at least  a lower second class (2.2) first degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics;  Economics; or any other related programme from a recognized university.
2. Master of Science in Agricultural Informatics and Data Analytics -1 ½  years To be eligible for the programme, a candidate must normally be a holder of at least  a lower second class (2.2) first degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics;  Economics; Mathematics; Statistics; Information Technology or any other related  programme from a recognized University.
3. Master of Science in Animal Breeding and Biotechnology -2 years To be eligible for the programme a candidate must be a holder of an Honours  Degree (class 2.2/GPA 2.0 or better) in Agriculture or relevant subjects such as  Animal Science, Biological Science, Biotechnology and Natural Resources, or  equivalent. 
4. Master of Science in Crop Science -2 ½ years To be eligible for the programme, a candidate must normally be a holder of at least  a good first degree in Agronomy, Crop Science or Horticulture or related fields  from a recognised University. Candidates with lower degree classes may be  admitted upon showing proof of employment in a crop science-related field for at  least three years.
5. Master of Science in Horticultural Sciences -2 ½ years To be eligible for the programme, a candidate must normally be a holder of a good  first degree in Agronomy, Horticulture or Crop Science or related fields from a  recognized University.
6. Master of Science in Land and Water Resources Management -2 years To be eligible for this programme a candidate should be a holder of a first degree  in Land and Water Resources Management or related fields from a recognized  University.

GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS LEADERSHIP  HARARE/GWERU CAMPUS PROGRAMMES  The Graduate School of Business Leadership (GSBL) is accredited by the  Association of African Business Schools (AABS), membership with Central and  Eastern Europe Management Council (CEEMAN) and Association of MBAs  (AMBA) this means that the degrees programmes offered by the GSBL are  internationally recognized.  ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Masters in Business Administration – Block Release – 2 years  Applicants should be at least 25 years of age and be holders of at least a second-class degree or its equivalent.  

At least (2) years of relevant experience. 

2. Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) – Block  Release – 1½ years  Applicants should be at least 35 years of age and be an Executive of their own business or have been a manager for at least five (5) years.  Must be holders of at least a second-class degree or its equivalent.  A holder of a third-class degree or its equivalent may be admitted only after providing evidence of academic maturity in the desired field of study as shall be judged by the Faculty Post Graduate Studies Committee.
