1.0 ADMISSION BY NORMAL ENTRY AND SPECIAL ENTRY INTO UNDERGRADUATE  DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR. 

1.1 Applications are invited from candidates who meet the requirements for entry into First Year Undergraduate  Programmes. 

FACULTIES AND DEGREE PROGRAMMES

FACULTY OF THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT
DEGREE PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Architectural  Studies Honours Degree (5 years)‘A’ Level pass in Mathematics or Mechanical Mathematics or Pure Mathematics or  Additional Mathematics plus any of the following subjects: Physics, Art, Geometrical &  Mechanical Drawing, Building Technology, Design & Technology and 5 “O” Level passes  including English language and Mathematics.  Special Entry: A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Architecture or  Architectural Technology with a pass at “O” Level in Mathematics and English.   Mature Entry: 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English and Mathematics. Applicants must  be above 25 years of age and are required to submit a CV, Portfolio and may be subjected  to an interview.
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Quantity Surveying (4 years)2 ‘A’ Level passes in either Mathematics or Further Mathematics or Mechanical  Mathematics or Statistics or Pure Mathematics or Physics and any other subject and 5 “O”  Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.  Special Entry: Applicants must have a National Diploma in Quantity Surveying with a  pass at ‘O’ Level in Mathematics and English.
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Construction   Management (4 years)2 ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics or Further Mathematics or Mechanical Mathematics or  Statistics or Pure Mathematics or Physics and any other subject and 5 “O” Level passes  including English Language and Mathematics.  Special Entry: Applicants must have a National Diploma in Architectural Technology,  Civil Engineering, Civil and Construction Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Town  Planning 5 “O” Level passes including Mathematics and English.
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Property   Development and Estate   Management (4 years)2 A’ Level passes in Geography, Mathematics or Mechanical Mathematics or Pure  Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Business Studies,  Management of Business and 5 “O” Level passes including English Language and  Mathematics.  Special Entry: A National Diploma in Town Planning, Valuation and Estate  Management, Quantity Surveying, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Finance and Business Studies; The Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe certification or its equivalence. Additional qualifications and work experience will be an added advantage.


FACULTY OF COMMERCE

DEGREE PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Commerce   ∙  Honours Degree in Accounting 2 ‘A’ level passes in Accounting and any one of the following subjects: Mathematics,  Statistics, Economics and Business Studies/Business Enterprise Skills and 5 “O” Level  passes including English Language and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Commerce Honours  Degree in Actuarial Science2 ‘A’ level passes in both Mathematics and Statistics and one Commercial subject and 5  “O” Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Commerce   Honours Degree in Banking  and Investment Management‘A’ level pass in Economics and any one of the following subjects: Accounting,  Mathematics, Business Studies and any other commercial subject and 5 “O” Level passes  including English Language and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Commerce   Honours Degree in Economics  and EconometricsA’ Level pass in Economics and any two commercial subjects plus 5 “O” Levels passes  including English Language and Mathematics. A pass in Advanced Level Mathematics is  an added advantage. 
Bachelor of Commerce   Honours Degree in Finance‘A’ level passes in Economics or Accounting or Mathematics and any other commercial  subject and 5 “O” Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.

Bachelor of Commerce   Honours Degree in Fiscal  Studies‘A’ level pass in Economics and any one of the following subjects: Accounting,  Mathematics, and Business Studies and 5 “O” Level passes including English Language  and Mathematics
Bachelor of Commerce   Honours Degree in Marketing2 ‘A’ level passes in any of the following subjects: Management of Business, Mathematics,  Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Geography and 5 “O” Level passes including English  Language and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Commerce   Honours Degree in Risk   Management and Insurance2 ‘A’ level passes in Economics or Mathematics and any other Commercial subjects at ‘A’  level. 5 “O” Level passes including English Language and Mathematic.
Bachelor of Commerce   Honours Degree in   Management2 ‘A’ Level passes in Commercial or Social Science subjects and 5 “O” Level passes  including English Language and Mathematics.
FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION SCIENCE
DEGREE PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Journalism and   Media Studies2 ‘A’ level passes in any Language subject and any Arts subjects. And 5 “O” Level passes  including English Language.
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Library and   Information Science2 ‘A’ level passes in any Arts subjects and 5 “O” Level passes including English  Language.  Special Entry  National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science,  Records and Archives Management (or their equivalent).
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Records and   Archives Management Any 2 ‘A’ level passes in any Arts subjects and 5 “O” Level passes including English  Language.  Special Entry:  Higher National Diploma in Records Management and Information Science; Records and  Archives Management, Library and Information Science or an equivalent.  National Diploma in Records Management and Information Science; Records and  Archives Management, Library and Information Science or an equivalent.
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Information   Management and TechnologyAny 2 ‘A’ level passes in any Arts subjects.  Special Entry  A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Records Management and  Information Science, Records and Archives Management, Library and Information  Science or an equivalent.
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Publishing Media  and Technology StudiesAny 2 ‘A’ level passes in any Arts Subjects and 5 “O” Level passes including English  Language.  Special Entry  National Diploma in Information or Communication or equivalent qualification in the subject or skills related to publishing.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

DEGREE PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Engineering   Honours Degree in Chemical  Engineering3 ‘A’ level passes in Mechanical Mathematics or Pure Mathematics or Additional  Mathematics and Chemistry plus Physics or Biology and 5 “O” Level passes including  English Language and Mathematics  Special Entry: Relevant National Diploma plus 2 years’ experience.  Relevant Higher National Diploma plus 1-year experience.

Bachelor of Engineering   Honours Degree in Civil and  Water EngineeringAt least 3 ‘A’ level passes in Pure Mathematics/Additional Mathematics/ Mechanical  Mathematics, Physics and either Chemistry, Computer Science or Engineering Drawing and 5 “O” Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.  Special Entry: National Diploma/ Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.
Bachelor of Engineering   Honours Degree in Electronic  EngineeringAt least 3 ‘A’ level passes in Pure Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics/ Mechanical  Mathematics, Physics and either Chemistry, Computer Science and 5 “O” Level passes  including English Language and Mathematics.  Special Entry: Relevant National Diploma plus 2 years’ experience. Relevant Higher  National Diploma plus 1 year working experience.
Bachelor of Engineering   Honours Degree in Industrial  and Manufacturing Engineering3 ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Pure Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics/  Mechanical Mathematics, Physics and either Chemistry, Computer Science or  Engineering Drawing/ Technical Graphics/ Mechanical Technology and Design/  Geometrical and Mechanical Drawing, with O’ Level pass in Science/ Chemistry, English  language and Mathematics and 5 “O” Level passes including English Language and  Mathematics.  Special Entry: National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical  Engineering/ Plant Engineering/ Draughting and Draughting Technology or equivalent  and 2 years’ relevant experience.
Bachelor of Engineering   Honours Degree in Fibre and  Polymer Materials Engineering3 A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Mathematics Additional Mathematics/ Mechanical  Mathematics/ Pure Mathematics and Physics and 5 “O” Level passes including English  Language and Mathematics.  Special Entry: Diploma in Polymer Science and/ Engineering or Fibre Science and  Engineering or equivalent and 2 years of relevant working experience.
 

FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

DEGREE PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Public Health Special Entry Only  A National Diploma in Environmental Health or any other equivalent qualification plus  two years’ work experience.  5 O’ Levels including English Language and Mathematics. 
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Geographical   Information Systems and   Remote Sensing in Natural  Resources Management2 “A” level passes in Geography, Biology or Chemistry plus  5 “O” level subjects including Mathematics and English Language.   Special Entry  A National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Geographical Information Systems,  Geo-Informatics and Remote Sensing or its equivalent. Applicants will be subjected to an  interview.
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Environmental   Science and Health‘A’ Level pass in Biology and any of the following subjects: Chemistry, Geography,  Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Additional  Mathematics Agriculture, Food Science and 5 “O” level passes including English  Language and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Science Honours  Degree in Forest Resources and  Wildlife Management‘A’ Level pass in Biology, Agriculture or Crop Science and any other Science subject and  5 “O” Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.  Special entry: National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant  field.  Mature Entry: Applicant should be at least 25 years old plus have relevant experience in  the field of wildlife, Forestry and Natural Resources. The Applicant may be subjected to an interview.

The 2-year programme targets non-graduate school teachers and related personnel in the  field of education.  A recognised Diploma or Certificate in Education in any of the following: Applied Art and Design; Clothing, Textile and Fashion Design; Design and Technology. Possession of  a relevant ‘A’ Level subject will be an advantage.  Applicants must have 5 ‘O’ Level subjects including English and Mathematics.
DEGREE PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Design and   Technology Education   (Honours) Degree The 2-year programme targets non-graduate school teachers and related personnel in the field of education.  A recognised Diploma or Certificate in Education in any of the following: Applied Art and Design; Clothing, Textile and Fashion Design; Design and Technology. Possession of  a relevant ‘A’ Level subject will be an advantage.  Applicants must have 5 ‘O’ Level subjects including English and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Science Education  (Honours) Degree A recognised Secondary School Diploma or Certificate in any of the following:  Accounting and Business Studies; Mathematics; Biology; Chemistry; Physics; Computer  Science.   Applicants must have at least 5 ‘O’ Level subject passes including English Language and  Mathematics.  Applicants with a Primary School teaching qualification must also have a pass at A level  in the intended subject of study or equivalent.
Bachelor of Technology   Education (Honours) Degree A National Diploma or equivalent qualification in any of the following subjects: Civil and  Construction Engineering; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Mechanical and  Industrial Engineering; Technical Graphics; Wood Science and Technology. Applicants must have 5 ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics.  Additionally, applicants must have a Diploma or Certificate in Engineering, Technology,  Technical or Vocational education.  Applicants must be non-graduate school teachers, college lecturers, trainers, instructors and related personnel in schools, institutions, organizations and industry who meet the  requirements for admission by special entry into the two-year programme.
Bachelor of Design and   Technology Education Honours Degree (4 Years)2 ‘A’ Level passes in any of the following: Applied Art and Design; Clothing, Textile;  Fashion Design, Design and Technology including the relevant subject of specialization  or its equivalent. 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English language and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Science Education  Honours Degree (4 Years)Subject Options:   Accounting and Business Studies, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and  Computer Science including the relevant subject of specialization or its equivalent.  5 ‘O’ Level passes including English language and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Technology   Education Honours Degree (4 Years)Subject Options: Civil and Construction Engineering, Mechanical and Industrial  Engineering, Technical Graphics, Wood Science and Technology, and Electrical and  Electronics Engineering.  Entry requirements: Two ‘A’ Level passes including the relevant subject of  specialization or its equivalent. 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English language and  Mathematics.

1.4 Payment Procedures Application Fee 

  1. a) Zimbabwean Nationals 

An application fee of US$20 must be paid during the online application process. 

  1. b) International Applicants 

The application fee for International Applicants is US$30. Closing dates of applications for NUST 2024 intakes

  2. b) The closing date for August classes applications is 9 February 2024
