Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic is inviting applications for the February 2026Intake. Located in Gwanda District, Bulawayo, the institution was named in honor of the late Vice President Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo.
The polytechnic offers a wide range of programmes, providing students with the opportunity to obtain National Certificates, National Diplomas, and Higher National Diplomas across various fields of study.

Entry Requirements at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic:
To qualify for admission into engineering courses, applicants must have:
- Five ‘O’ Level passes with grade C or better, including English Language, Mathematics, and Science, or
- Four ‘O’ Level passes plus a relevant National Foundation Certificate.
- Entry requirements for National Diploma: A National Certificate for the Diploma course is required, and the entry requirements under each course area still apply.
- Entry requirements for Higher National Diploma: A National Diploma for the Higher Diploma course is required, and the entry requirements under each course area still apply.
Note: Applicants can enrol in courses marked (#) without Mathematics.

How to apply at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic
Applicants can submit their applications in person, along with certified photocopies of the following documents:
- Birth Certificate
- National ID
- Academic Certificates
- Proof of payment of the processing fee

A non-refundable processing fee of USD 20.00 must be deposited into one of the following accounts:

- AFC Bank – Account Number: 100 000 365 801, Gwanda Branch
Important: Ensure that your name (not the parent's or guardian's name), ID number, and the course area you are applying for are written on the banking slip.
Deadlines
The closing date for applications is 30 November 2025. However, interested candidates can check with the Polytechnic to confirm the availability of vacancies after this closing date.
