ZIMSEC has announced that the examination fees for the 2026 Grade 6 and Grade 7 examinations will remain unchanged at USD 65.00 for all subjects.
For candidates in public schools, the Government will contribute USD 36.00 towards the examination fees, while parents or guardians will pay USD 29.00. Candidates from private schools and colleges will be required to pay the full examination fee of USD 65.00.
The deadline for payment of Term 1 examination fees for 2026 is 27 February 2026.
However, in an effort to mobilise resources for the preparation of the 2026 and 2027 national examinations, ZIMSEC has introduced an early payment incentive for examination centres.
Examination centres that remit the full 2026 Grade 6 and Grade 7 examination fees by 31 January 2026 will receive five sets of Gold Key Question and Answer booklets.
In addition, centres that pay the 2026 Grade 6 and Grade 7 Term 1 examination fees in full by 31 January 2026 will receive two sets of Gold Key Question and Answer booklets.
Termly Examination Fees for Grade 6 and Grade 7 (2026)
The termly examination fees for candidates registered for the 2026 Grade 6 and Grade 7 examinations are as follows:
- Candidates in public schools: USD 5.00
- Candidates in private schools and colleges: USD 11.00
- Extra-territorial candidates: USD 21.00
