2026 Lower Sixth Classes Set to Commence Next Week

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has officially announced the commencement date for 2026 Lower Six classes across all provinces in Zimbabwe. Classes are scheduled to begin on Monday, 2 February 2026.

All schools offering Lower Six are expected to commence lessons on the stated date in line with the Ministry’s directive.

In the announcement, the Ministry clarified that Lower Six students will not be required to pay full Term One fees. Instead, fees will be charged on a pro-rata basis, calculated according to the number of days remaining in Term One 2026. This means students will only pay for the period they are in attendance during the term.

School heads, teachers, parents, and pupils are encouraged to take note of this official commencement date to ensure smooth planning and timely reporting.

The announcement comes shortly after the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) released the 2025 Ordinary Level results, which recorded a national pass rate of 35%. As schools and parents prepare for the next academic stage, this announcement is timely.
