Programme Overview & Objectives

Rooted in Christian education, the diploma helps student teachers:

• Understand child development from ages 0–8, including milestones and diverse learner needs
• Apply Biblical principles to teaching and learning methodologies
• Develop digital competency in modern educational tools
• Create nurturing, inclusive environments for all learners

Course Structure & Content

Mode of Delivery:

• Fully online, or
• Blended learning (combination of online and on-campus sessions)

Modules Include:

• Foundations of Early Childhood Development – Theories and philosophies of child growth
• Principles of Practice and Teaching – Inclusive education, practice-based learning, and reflective techniques
• Creative Expressions & Social Sciences – Sensory-rich pedagogical environments and moral/religious studies
• Mathematics & Sciences in ECD – Innovative teaching methods and the role of nutrition, health, and safety
• Main Study (Elective Subject) – Choose one: English, Mathematics, Heritage Social Studies, Home Economics, Agriculture, or Music
• Teaching Practice – Real classroom experience to grow professional competence
• National Strategic Studies – Understanding Zimbabwe’s cultural context and civic responsibility
• Foundations in Christian Education – Modules include The Effective Christian Teacher; Teaching from a Christian Perspective; Theology and Philosophy of Christian Education

• Certified by the University of Zimbabwe
• Recognised by Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development
