ED-UNZA Scholarship 2026 – Apply Now

The ED-UNZA Scholarship Board of Trustees invites applications for the 2026 scholarships to study at any state university in Zimbabwe.

This opportunity is open to motivated, high-achieving students who lack the financial means to pursue higher education.

ED – UNZA scholarship is an initiative by the President of Zimbabwe to pay the fees of students. This program has been instrumental in empowering young Zimbabweans.

The programme plays a crucial role in fostering Zimbabwe’s intellectual and professional growth.

The scholarships cover tuition and related academic expenses, ensuring that talented individuals from diverse backgrounds can access quality education without financial barriers.

Targeted Provinces and Districts

Recruitment is being done through selected districts across the country as follows:

  • Harare Province, the targeted districts are Epworth, Mabvuku, Tafara, and Chitungwiza.
  • Mashonaland East, recruitment focuses on Hwedza and UMP.
  • Mashonaland Central will target students from Mt Darwin and Rushinga, while Mashonaland West focuses on Hurungwe and Kariba.
  • Matebeleland North, applicants from Nkayi and Binga are eligible, and Bulawayo Province includes Mzilikazi and Umguza.
  • Matebeleland South will recruit from Bulilima and Mangwe, while Midlands Province targets Shurugwi and Mberengwa.
  • Masvingo Province, the focus is on Chivi and Mwenezi, and in Manicaland Province, the targets are Buhera and Nyanga.

Fields of Study

The beneficiaries will undertake studies across various disciplines, including:

  • Sciences
  • Medicine
  • Law

The ED-UNZA Scholarship Program aims to empower deserving students from disadvantaged backgrounds by supporting their university education.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the ED-UNZA Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have between 13 and 15 Advanced Level points.
  • Have written examinations in 2024.
  • Attach ‘O’ Level and A-Level results slips or certificates.
  • Provide a detailed social background statement.
  • Priority will be given to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC).

Required Documents for the ED – UNZA Scholarship 2026 Zimbabwe

Applications must include:

  • A supporting letter from the School Head (last school attended).
  • Certified copies of:
    • O Level and A Level results
    • Birth Certificate
    • National ID
    • Death Certificate(s) (optional)
    • Letter from Headman or Chief confirming indigent status
