General Nursing and Mental Health Nursing Intakes

The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) invites suitably qualified applicants for the 2026 intakes into the Three-Year Diploma in General Nursing and Mental Health Nursing programmes.

Applications are invited for the following sessions:

  • January 2026
  • May 2026
  • September 2026

General Nurse Training Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold at least five (5) Ordinary Level passes, including:

  • English Language
  • A Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, Physical Science, Combined Science, or Physics)

Excluding practical subjects like Food and Nutrition, Textiles and Fabrics, Metal Work, Technical Graphics, Art, Woodwork, Physical Education, and Agriculture.

Applicants must be aged between 18 and 30 years at the time of applying.

Provincial, District and Mission Hospitals (Addressed to the Medical Superintendent / Senior Nurse Tutor-in-Charge):

  • January 2026: Chinhoyi, Gweru, Gokwe North, St. Luke’s, St. Theresa’s, Mutambara, Victoria Chitepo
  • May 2026: Chinhoyi, Gweru, Karoi, Gwanda, Kuwirirana, St. Anne’s Brunapeg, Murambinda, Masvingo, Mhondoro, Tsholotsho
  • September 2026: Chinhoyi, Gutu, Gokwe North, St. Luke’s, St. Theresa’s, Victoria Chitepo, St. Anne’s, Brunapeg, Murambinda, Masvingo

Mental Health Nurse Training

Institution: Ingutsheni Central Hospital
Intake: May 2026
Applications should be addressed to the Chief Medical Officer, Attention: Principal Tutor.

Documents Required for the 2026 General and Mental Health Nursing Intake

Shortlisted candidates must present the following at interviews:

  • Original and certified copies of:
    • Birth Certificate
    • National ID
    • Ordinary Level certificates
    • Marriage Certificate (where applicable)
  • Two (2) passport-size photos
  • Verification of certificates will be done on the interview day

The Ministry of Health and Child Care does not process applications through third parties or agents.
Applicants are strongly advised to submit their applications directly to the training schools listed above.
