Harare Polytechnic is currently accepting applications for its 2026 intake up to October 31, 2025. The institution invites ambitious and career-focused individuals to apply for a wide variety of programmes offered at National Certificate, National Diploma, and Higher National Diploma levels.

Harare Polytechnic equips students with practical, industry-relevant skills that meet the demands of today’s job market.

Harare Polytechnic 2026 Intake Entry Requirements

To apply for any course at Harare Polytechnic, applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  • 5 O’Levels including English, Mathematics, and Science for all engineering, science, and ICT courses.
  • To qualify for ABMA Courses, applicants must have at least 5 O-levels, including Maths and English Language, with a grade of C or better, and one year of experience in a related field (Include proof of employment).
  • To qualify for a National Diploma, applicants must have a full award at the National Certificate level.
  • To be eligible for a Higher National Diploma, applicants must have a full prize at the National Diploma level.

NATIONAL DIPLOMA in:

  • Production Management

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA in:

  • Clothing Technology
  • Beauty Therapy

NC to HND part-time courses are offered in the following areas:

Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics, Integrated Science, Biology, and Combined Science.
O-Level Chemistry is a compulsory subject.

BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY (Honours) DEGREE IN CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY

Entry Requirements:
Applicants must have an HND in Applied Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Mode of Study: Full-time

BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY (Honours) DEGREE IN MASS COMMUNICATION

Mode of Study: Full-time / Block Release
Duration: 3 Years

Entry Requirements:
Applicants must have one of the following:

  • A National Diploma in Mass Communication / Journalism awarded by the Higher Education Examination Council (HEXCO) or equivalent, OR
  • A higher degree in Social Sciences or related fields.

Special Entry:
Applicants without the above qualifications may be considered if they have at least 5 years of journalism and communication experience, in addition to 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language with a grade C or better.
